Q. I just do not understand all of this renewable energy stuff. Can you help me and give me some place to go?
A. Here is our technical resource manual for you BIOMASS INDUSTRY MARKET
Q. Why are you planning to harvest wood for biomass energy? The trees are living things and you are destroying them; isn't that being a bad environmentalist, and aren't you in fact increasing the carbon footprint?
A. The fiber supply we are seeking to secure is in fact the forest land which has been widely impacted by the Mountain Pine Beetle, which kills the tree and destroys the tree for future use as building lumber. Furthermore, these decaying trees present a fire hazard if not uprooted before they fall. If we do not take steps to harvest this dying wood, significant pollution will occur either by way of forest fires on dead forests or the dying trees will release methane gas from their destruction which is more polluting and a higher carbon footprint than harvesting those trees.
Q. What is the relation of the indigenous groups with the torrefied biomass plant and
energy products?
A. We are approaching numerous indigenous groups in North America to provide us with supply. Sea 2 Sky expects to have a supply greater than it needs for its initial market window. By having more options, Sea 2 Sky is not beholden to any one supplier.
Q. How can Canada ship product competitively to Europe. It is so far away?
A. Canada currently already ships to Europe. The fact is that Russia has taken steps to curb the export of its raw logs to European countries which has increased the need for biomass pellet and other energy products from safe, secure, politically stable sources. Canada is such a source. Furthermore, the US marketplace is rapidly expanding with the incentives now being offered by the US Administration. As such, the demand for alternative energy far exceeds the current supply situation.
